Play Time!

Mona loves to play! She has a lot of energy and we are constantly looking for ways to help her get it all out. She loves to play with her rope toys. Mainly, she loves to bring them to me and then quickly run away when I reach for it.

Her favorite play time activity is frisbee. We live near a large closed in field where we go and toss the frisbee around, and before we even get o the parking lot she's jumping around in the car because she knows where she is. Getting her to let go of the frisbee is a big task all in itself. Though, it's not nearly as hard as it is to catch her once it's time to go home.

How It All Came To Be...

Mona the day we got her (2 months).
This past January, my boyfriend, Peter, and I got ourselves a Malinoodle. Her name is Mona and she was born on Thanksgiving Day. She is a Belgian Malinois and Standard Poodle mix. When we first got her she was tiny, only 8 lbs. Now she's a little over 30 lbs and the vet says she'll probably reach close to 50.

As far as behavior goes, she inherited an equal mix of Poodle and Malinois traits. She learns very quickly like a Malinois but gets bored of doing the same trick over and over, like a Poodle. She's eager to please like a Malinois, but stubborn like a Poodle.

I must say, my favorite thing about Mona is her appearance. Even through her awkward lanky (her back legs are longer than her body) stage she manages to look adorable. Her coat is wavy, but not too thick. She doesn't shed too much. But the best thing is that she has curls at the end of her tail:

How adorable!
